About the Role

The Office of Sustainability is hiring a Data Analytics and Reporting Eco Rep to support sustainability goals through data analysis, reporting, and visualization, particularly focusing on sustainability reporting efforts like AASHE STARS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze sustainability-related data such as energy use, waste diversion, transportation, and purchasing.
  • Assist in preparing data for AASHE STARS, climate reporting, and other sustainability certifications or assessments.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards or reports using tools like Power BI, Excel, or Python scripts.
  • Conduct audits and ensure data accuracy across multiple sources and departments.
  • Identify data gaps and recommend improvements for data collection processes.
  • Communicate analytical findings through visualizations and written reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to collect data and share insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student at Southern New Hampshire University.
  • Strong quantitative, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and basic formulas.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in learning sustainability reporting frameworks and performance metrics.

Nice to Have

  • Beginner-level experience with Python for data analysis (e.g., pandas, matplotlib).
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to sustainability metrics, energy systems, or environmental performance indicators.
  • Previous experience in research, reporting, or data-focused roles.

Qualifications

  • No specific formal qualifications required beyond being a student.
