About the Role

The Submarine Project Manager role at Serco involves leading programmatic support for the US Navy's submarine operations within the Team Submarine contract in Washington, D.C. The position focuses on managing submarine-related activities, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting the maintenance, sustainment, and disposal of in-service submarines. The role emphasizes collaboration with Navy customers and internal teams to enhance communication and efficiency in submarine programs, contributing to military defense and sailor safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary customer contact for all activities, meeting with and updating the customer on project status.
  • Lead program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Provide acquisition management planning and execution support.
  • Be the single point of contact on all contract management support related issues, including required reports and presentations responsible for quality control and timeliness.
  • Provide financial and management support to assist in budget development for the contract.
  • Deliver the technical performance within cost and schedule parameters through completion of the contract.
  • Manage the technical and administrative staff and provide ongoing direction in the performance of the assigned program.
  • Develop and monitor program plan including time and cost estimates, ensuring delivery of project outputs on schedule and within funding.
  • Lead technical discussions for project reviews, including preparing and delivering formal briefings.
  • Participate in company Business Development efforts.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DOD Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field.
  • An Associates Degree and 2 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, or a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of experience with exposure in engineering/science management, operations research analysis, financial/cost analysis, and Navy acquisition and submarine programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with Navy acquisition and submarine programs.
  • Experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer.
  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of program management, including the acquisition process, the budgeting process, and Navy program execution.
  • Active-duty experience in the Submarine Service.
  • Recent experience in Team Submarine.

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field (or equivalent experience).
