About the Role

The Information Technology (IT) Department at Bridgewater State University is seeking a temporary Content/Story Writer to support the development of our annual IT Outcomes publication, which highlights key projects, initiatives, and accomplishments from the past year. This role is ideal for a student with strong writing and interviewing skills who enjoys crafting engaging stories about impactful work undertaken by IT in collaboration with stakeholders across campus.

Key Responsibilities

Interview IT staff, faculty, and stakeholders to gather content.
Write feature-style stories that bring IT accomplishments to life.
Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure story accuracy and tone.
Proofread and revise based on feedback from key stakeholders.
Meet deadlines with a focus on quality and clarity.

Requirements

Experience writing articles, newsletters, and/or feature-style stories.
Strong interviewing and communication skills.
Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, engaging content.
Attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
Comfortable working independently.

Nice to Have

Writing experience in a professional or academic setting.
Experience with storytelling or content development.

Qualifications
