Job Description

About the Role

The Product Management Senior Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for the development of product plans, strategies and tactics in coordination with the Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position. Model Risk Management (MRM) is a critical part of Citi's Global Risk Management organization, providing independent oversight of models used across the firm to manage risk and inform key business decisions. The System Strategy and Oversight (SSO) team within MRM is responsible for driving the product strategy, program management, governance, and continuous enhancement of the Model Risk Management System (MRMS). The role involves modernizing Citi's model risk infrastructure, delivering solutions that ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment, working closely with senior stakeholders and technology teams in a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to redesign and reengineer the Model Risk Management System (MRMS) in alignment with Citi's Model Risk Management Policy, Procedures, and broader system strategy.
  • Develop and execute a multiyear roadmap for Model Risk Management, aligning with organizational vision.
  • Translate policy and procedural requirements into detailed process flows, system requirements, and actionable project plans, identifying opportunities for streamlining, automation, and enhanced controls.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Risk, Model Development, Validation, Technology, and Business Management functions to deliver integrated, effective system solutions.
  • Author comprehensive business requirements and partner with technology teams to oversee solution design, development, and implementation.
  • Drive system enhancements that simplify model lifecycle management processes, integrate emerging technologies such as Gen AI, and improve risk metrics reporting and documentation digitization.
  • Prioritize initiatives, provide governance over IT project delivery, ensuring initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with budgetary and strategic objectives.
  • Define and oversee system quality standards, preventive control mechanisms, user acceptance testing (UAT) processes, and end-user training programs.
  • Maintain strong control, governance, and documentation practices in line with Citi standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Assist in development and analysis of strategic product roadmaps, product enhancement and development, product launches, and product marketing to maximize benefits and identify industry trends, threats, and opportunities.
  • Participate in day-to-day product management for core products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies.
  • Help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results.
  • Execute client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation.
  • Provide informal guidance or on-the-job training to new team members.
  • Oversee client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental trials of product commoditization.
  • Contribute to achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue, and expense management goals.
  • Oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps in business plans.
  • Implement team procedures, client problem resolution, and client management.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and Citi policies, and escalating control issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in product development, technology-driven system enhancement, or governance roles.
  • Prior experience in model risk management, model development, model validation, or similar risk/control functions within financial institutions is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidance on model risk management, including SR 11-7 and SR 15-18, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving risk management, technology, and process reengineering.
  • Experience implementing document digitization and metrics, with a focus on driving integration with Generative AI models (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with database design, SQL for analysis, and reporting frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of emerging technologies, including building Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) in Python, R, or similar programming languages (advantageous).
  • Strong project management discipline, with proven ability to manage initiatives through full lifecycle execution.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to work independently, adjust priorities quickly, and manage deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) in Python, R, or similar languages.
  • Experience with emerging technologies and automation in risk management systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or University degree.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with 10+ years of experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary range of $163,600.00 - $245,400.00.
  • Discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
  • Medical, dental & vision coverage.
