About the Role

The SVP, Risk Data & Analytics leads the definition of data, development of databases, models, and reports to support risk management across all financial and non-financial risk areas at Raymond James. This role involves driving analytics used in day-to-day risk management, defining risk technology infrastructure and data strategy, and collaborating with stakeholders including regulators, compliance, and technology teams. The position requires autonomous decision-making and leadership in designing enterprise-level risk platform solutions with significant business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish RJF Risk's systems and data solutions to align with changing regulatory and business environments to minimize risk exposure while balancing business concerns.
  • Develop and maintain advanced risk analytics solutions to assess exposures in market, credit, collateral, and liquidity risk management.
  • Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of dynamic data visualization tools and reports providing real-time insights into risk trends, including ad hoc reporting.
  • Lead the evaluation, replacement, selection, and implementation of vendor tooling across Risk (Financial and Non-financial), in partnership with RJF Technology.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements and serve as an executor on designing and building high-quality data solutions, including detailed end-to-end documentation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Raymond James Financial's technology stack including data sources, systems architecture, vendor tools, and orchestration opportunities.
  • Implement a comprehensive risk data strategy that ensures high-quality, consistent, and well-governed data across the risk organization.
  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory risk reporting and interface with regulatory bodies on data-related matters.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage staff, and create development plans.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal regulatory guidance including Federal Reserve, OCC, FINRA, SEC, and others.
  • Experience in implementing new technologies and systems to enhance risk management capabilities, including tools like Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, AWS, and others.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and investment processes.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional collaboration to align risk management with business goals.
  • Ability to provide requirements to technical teams and lead risk technology transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of agile project and program management principles.
  • Strong communication skills, including preparing and delivering professional presentations and articulating technical concepts to non-technologists.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Educational background with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related fields; MBA or master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years supporting technical teams in risk management, enterprise technology, or analytics within financial services or related industries.
  • Understanding of risk-related regulatory requirements and ability to apply data analytics to risk reporting and mitigation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with data orchestration tools like dbt and Model Op.
  • Certifications related to risk management or data analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • MBA or master's degree with strong academic credentials (preferred).
  • Twelve or more years of experience supporting technical teams in risk management, enterprise technology, or analytics in financial services, banking, asset management, FinTech, or consulting.
