About the Role

The Technical Architect role is based in Jersey City, NJ, and involves designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture tailored to the needs of the P&C insurance business. The position requires collaboration with various insurance and IT teams to support core functions such as policy administration, claims processing, billing, and reinsurance, with a focus on cloud data platforms and data modernization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture tailored to the needs of the P&C insurance business.
  • Develop enterprise data models that support core insurance functions such as policy administration, claims processing, billing, and reinsurance.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and IT teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
  • Evaluate tools and technologies, run proof of concept, and propose technology options and solutions to the client.
  • Lead the modernization of legacy systems and migration to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Define data integration strategies across internal systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) and third-party data providers (e.g., ISO, LexisNexis).
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance in compliance with industry regulations (e.g., NAIC, SOX).
  • Support advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI/ML initiatives by ensuring data readiness and accessibility.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts.
  • Be a key player in transforming the data landscape.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of insurance data domains: policy, claims, billing, underwriting, actuarial, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like SQL, Python, Informatica, Talend, Datastage.
  • Familiarity with insurance core systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) and data standards (e.g., ACORD).
  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Computer Science.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure cloud platform.
  • Knowledge of data standards and systems used in insurance industry.

Benefits & Perks
