About the Role

Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures high-performance disc brake systems. Since our inception in 1977, we have developed a complete line of braking solutions from pedal to pad including necessary installation hardware and components. In addition to designing and manufacturing brakes for all types of competitive motorsports, Wilwood also manufactures brake systems for agricultural equipment, industrial applications, utility vehicles, snowmobiles, quads, motorcycles, and military vehicles. Headquartered in Camarillo, California, Wilwood employs approximately 320 people in more than 200,000 square feet of space. Wilwood's engineering department uses the latest computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques in conjunction with finite element analysis, dynamic test, and cycle-test equipment to find high-performance and reliable solutions for the most difficult braking tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Senior Manager of Engineering and the Marketing Manager to prioritize the project list for the creation of technical drawings and datasheets
Work closely with the Engineering department to understand the scope of the project and what illustrations or photographs are needed
Create, convert, enhance and/or prepare photographic imagery, line art, and engineering drawings for use in instructional data sheets and parts drawings for promotional material in print and digital formats
Participate in and assist with new product installations to provide technical data and document proper procedures for creating step-by-step instructional datasheets for end users
Provide direction to the photographer to capture the correct images needed to support the datasheet
Edit images from the photographer for use in the layout and design of datasheets
Prepare complete datasheets for new products using drawings and photography as requested by engineering and marketing
Edit existing datasheets and drawings as needed for updates and product changes
Work within technical drawing programs, preferably Adobe Illustrator and InDesign or SolidWorks AutoCAD software

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, illustration or a related field
Minimum three years experience using graphic design, AutoCAD, or other illustration software
Equivalent combination of education and work experience
Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the willingness to take responsibility and initiative
Must possess a positive attitude, a high degree of personal integrity, and a strong work ethic
Must be a detail-oriented, creative thinker with solid design skills
Must possess exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
Proven PC, Microsoft Office, and illustration software skills, and thorough understanding of graphic, and print tools, including an understanding of file conversion
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Nice to Have

Experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign or SolidWorks AutoCAD software
