About the Role

Our team is looking for a GIS SME regarding 911 GIS and related data, with specialized knowledge in emergency communications data structure, manipulation, and processes. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring that successful and secure work is performed for our government installations which is vital to our Mission to protect and serve our Military. This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Geographic Information System subject matter expertise and direction on projects from inception through completion (e.g. proposal input, task lead, deliverables, quality assurance, etc.)
  • Provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of execution, to comply with the technical requirements of the contract for the customer.
  • Manage and coordinate project activities such as assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating data development tasks.
  • Evaluate performance of subcontractors and deliverables.
  • Review deliverables for quality assurance and controls.
  • Assist with briefs, memoranda, reports, and other documentation highlighting project progress and status.
  • Attend meetings and assist with documentation.
  • Ensure training of all staff members and instruct them on the customer's methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop data processing methodology to realize efficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and take corrective action.
  • Participate in long-range planning, analysis, and program initiatives.
  • Participate in the planning and design of new projects as requested.
  • Support the Navy and multiple contracts as a GIS SME and NG911 GIS data manager/geodatabase administrator as Technical Project Lead II.
  • Develop data manipulation and processing methodology for spatial or geographic data.
  • Gather and update geographic mapping in support of NG911 efforts and emergency management for Navy's Regional Commands.
  • Implement requirements and standards for NG911 GIS data and ensure adherence.
  • Participate in planning for emergency response and public safety systems as a GIS SME.
  • Travel as needed, both CONUS and OCONUS.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • A Bachelor's degree or a High School Diploma/GED with minimum 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Emergency Management Data.
  • Experience in Spatial Enterprise Solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and within government systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS.
  • Must possess a valid U.S Passport.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with emergency communications data structure, manipulation, and processes.
  • Knowledge of NG911 GIS data standards and controls.
  • Experience in project management and technical leadership in GIS or emergency management fields.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience in GIS, emergency management, and spatial solutions.
