Technical Project Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manages the development of a prescribed planning document and develops project charter.
• Partners with sponsors to secure project approval and develops communication management plan.
• Defines project team roles and responsibilities, develops work plan structure and project schedule, and develops deployment plan.
• Leads project meetings and sets and manages expectations with resource managers and team members.
• Secures the appropriate skill sets for the project.
• Identifies, documents, and prioritizes scope changes and facilitates approval process; maintains and updates all project documents.
• Provides performance feedback to team members and resource managers.
• Maintains issue log; facilitates resolution of issues.
• Executes communication plans; tracks and manages time and budget against plan.
• Provides regular status reports; manages and updates project plan.
• Manages and monitors ROI throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develops testing strategy and conducts project close-out activities.
• Prepares and participates in quality review checkpoints and obtains necessary approvals.

Requirements

• Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.
• Minimum of 5 years project management experience in broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development, building enterprise applications, or data warehouse planning and development.
• At least 2 years spent working in a lead role on one or more projects.
• Experience in creating an effective team environment, building relationships, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, resource management in a matrix environment, and effective communication at all organizational levels.
• Experience working with project management tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience with state Medicaid programs.
• Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) knowledge.
• Experience in managing and working with client-facing, technology-based products.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Smartsheet.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Jira.
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP).
• Experience working with portfolio management applications and Rational tools.

Qualifications

• Educational background includes a BA/BS degree in relevant fields.
