About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Writer for a very important client. This position involves developing and maintaining a variety of Instructions For Use (IFU) documents for our Robotics organization, including User's Guides, Technical Bulletins, Service Manuals, Knowledge Content, Online help guides, and other technical content for advanced robotic products. The role requires identifying document requirements, interviewing product experts, and creating detailed, accurate documentation. The Technical Writer will manage multiple projects, coordinate translations, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia, web-based publications and user sites
Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation
Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for technical users
Designs, develops, and maintains service manuals using MadCap Flare and Adobe FrameMaker® software applications
Controls service manual versioning and maintains the service manual archives
Creates easy-to-understand online user interface text, help, and training guides
Performs administrative documentation tasks required to establish and track the service manual in a Product Lifecycle Management system
Continuously evaluates business processes, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements improvements
Standardizes content across platforms and media
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations
Works independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments
Completes all other duties as assigned
May require occasional domestic and international travel (less than 10%)

Requirements

BS / BA in a technical science, English, or Journalism
2+ years of technical writing or technical editing experience in a technical publications group
Advanced experience with MadCap Flare software or Adobe FrameMaker®
Experience with Structured Authoring using XML and content management solutions
Advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat® and PhotoShop® software, vector graphics software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator® or CoreDraw), and HTML
Strong organizational skills
Expertise in XML authoring and publishing tools and systems
