About the Role

Vertex is seeking to hire an Associate Director, US Acute Performance Analytics & Reporting to join the North America Forecasting, Analytics and Market Research team in the Commercial organization. This role will provide support for the analysis, quantitative tracking, and reporting of commercial performance for a US Acute Pain launch. The individual will lead requirement gathering, development, execution, and insight generation for all performance dashboards and analytics, including presenting insights to stakeholders. The candidate must be a skilled individual contributor with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across functions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead commercial KPI tracking, reporting and analytics processes end-to-end, with primary focus on US Acute Pain, including developing PowerBI dashboards and preparing presentations.
Develop and leverage understanding of all available data sets, working with partners to ingest, process, and analyze data for reporting and analytics.
Evaluate trends using data and reporting outputs, synthesize and present performance tracking analytics (e.g., vs. forecast), to support updates to revenue forecasts.
Generate and deliver actionable insights to key stakeholders, collaborating with analytical partners and market research teams.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders including US Marketing, Global Marketing, US Market Access, US Finance, and Sales Operations.

Requirements

Experience building and maintaining KPI reporting dashboards within the pharma/biotech industry, using tools such as Power BI.
Proficiency with complex Excel modeling and analyzing large data sets, leveraging tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, VBA.
Experience working with commercial pharma data sets such as IQVIA, XPONENT PlanTrak, DDD, LAAD, and internal sales/marketing data.
Strong analytical and business acumen, with the ability to structure problems, diagnose issues, and synthesize insights.
Experience working with senior leadership to support insights generation, financial forecasting, and commercial launch planning.
Ability to adapt quickly and thoughtfully to evolving business and planning needs.
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Science).
8 years in biotech/pharmaceuticals in a quantitative role or 4 years in a relevant consulting role post-MBA/PhD with biotech/pharmaceutical experience.

Nice to Have

Experience with Power BI dashboard development.
Proficiency with SQL, Python, SAS, VBA for data analysis.
Experience with commercial pharma data sets such as IQVIA, XPONENT PlanTrak, DDD, LAAD.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Science).
8 years in biotech/pharmaceuticals in a quantitative role or 4 years in a relevant consulting role post-MBA/PhD.
