About the Role

Position Summary... What you'll do... As the Manager, Marketing Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial discipline and operational excellence of Sam's Club Marketing initiatives. You will be the central point of collaboration between Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Controllership, driving compliance with company governance and optimizing the use of marketing resources. Your ability to balance accuracy, adaptability, and urgency will be key in supporting campaign execution and strategic decision-making. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations, and will be located onsite at the Sam's Club home office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Controllership teams to ensure all marketing spend aligns with company policies and governance standards.
  • Proactively identify and address gaps in compliance or process, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing partners to accurately capture, track, and report forecasted spend by campaign and initiative.
  • Maintain detailed and dynamic budget models, leveraging Excel and other tools to ensure real-time visibility and control of marketing spend.
  • Present clear, concise budget status updates and spend forecasts to leadership, supporting informed decision making.
  • Lead monthly reconciliations of marketing spend, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial records.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc budget reports, highlighting variances, trends, and actionable insights.
  • Work closely with analytics teams to ensure spend data integrity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes, adopt new tools, and share best practices across the team.
  • Support campaign planning and execution by providing timely and accurate budget guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in marketing operations, finance, or a related analytical/operational role.
  • Experience managing budgets and reconciliation in a large, matrixed organization is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting complex financial data.
  • Ability to learn new financial and reporting tools rapidly.
  • Work Ethic: Brings a calm, methodical approach to high-urgency tasks; able to juggle multiple priorities and shift focus as business needs evolve.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains the highest standards of accuracy and data integrity in all deliverables.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and change; proactively seeks solutions and adapts to new challenges.
  • Proven track record of effective partnership with cross-functional teams, especially Finance, Accounting, and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in marketing operations, business management, or related field OR 3 years' experience in marketing operations, business management, or related field.
  • 2 years' experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
