Vice President, Trend Intelligence - Remote

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Define technical/analytic requirements for drug trend analysis
• Establish a trend communication strategy via webinars, publications, and marketing materials for insights
• Produce high-quality quarterly Trend deliverables that measure and advance Optum Rx's client and member services
• Initiate and perform ad-hoc analysis to define, measure, and predict critical drug trends for clients, members, and the industry
• Work with analytics team to establish trend analytics and comprehensive performance reporting
• Identify and define new products and champion their development
• Continuously add capabilities within existing products
• Participate in sales presentations including PBM best and finals
• Provide thought leadership and integration opportunities to clinical partners within Optum Health and Optum Insights
• Present internally and externally to promote relevant products

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of healthcare experience performing Trend analytics and delivering innovative solutions to improve member care, increase provider engagement, and lower client costs
• 5+ years of leadership experience within a PBM and/or experience within a Health Plan with PBM interaction or oversight and/or consultant relations
• Experience working with sales and account management teams in a client-facing capacity, including participation in sales presentations and RFP processes
• Experience working with prescriber engagement strategies and value-based care mechanisms
• Experience with PBM contract methodologies, rebate mechanisms, and drug pricing
• Proficiency in Excel and Power BI
• Ability to travel up to 30%

Nice to Have

• RPh/Pharm D, MBA or related Master's degree
• 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably managing teams of teams
• Extensive involvement in clinical pharmacy strategy for 5+ years
• Experience presenting and defending clinical programs/business cases to leadership
• In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry from both clinical and business perspectives
• Experience working with all levels of cross-functional teams including executives, managers, and analysts
• Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to motivate others
• Judgment skills regarding ideas, needs, resources, and strategic communication
• Ability to conceptualize and explain strategic vision considering complex parameters
• Creative, high-energy self-starter with innovative solutions
• Understanding of clinical products, capabilities, and marketplace needs

• Strong management and motivation skills for teams and cross-functional groups
