Job Description

About the Role

Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for a Vice President of Marketing & Communications. The VP will be responsible for leading a talented team in shaping and executing the agency's marketing, branding, and communications efforts. This individual will serve as an ambassador for the organization and will play a pivotal role in increasing the agency's visibility, ridership, and brand awareness, as well as managing communications, media relations, and all aspects of marketing including paid advertising, promotional materials, and targeted programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute high-performing marketing and communications plans to achieve higher levels of transit ridership.
  • Lead and empower a high-performing, innovative marketing and communications team, ensuring alignment with Trinity Metro's broader vision and strategic goals.
  • Direct and set departmental communication, media plans, and marketing procedures to meet goals and objectives, including developing long-term communication strategies for ridership improvement and public relations.
  • Shape and disseminate the agency's messages to various audiences using different approaches.
  • Oversee the EasyRide Program to provide transit benefits to Fort Worth businesses and employees to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.
  • Coordinate public events to promote transit service, including planning and development of promotional materials such as fact sheets, scripts, posters, newsletters, brochures, and website content.
  • Manage the selection and coordination of outside consultants, advertising agencies, photographers, videographers, printers, and freelancers, ensuring quality service.
  • Oversee public relations events and communication planning for Trinity Metro’s participation in community events like Main Street, Veterans Day Parade, Parade of Lights, Open Streets, and others.
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues, working with leadership to recognize opportunities and develop strategies to support them.
  • Prepare complex reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • Participate in community activities to promote transit during off-duty hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and ensure reliable and consistent attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Five to ten years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, and public relations.
  • Experience promoting non-profit or public agency service is helpful.
  • Any combination of experience, training, and/or education that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in a related field.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications, and public relations.
  • Experience promoting non-profit or public agency service (preferred).
