Job Description

About the Role

Validity is seeking a strategic and operational leader to be our Vice President of Product Development. The VP - Product Development will lead the evolution of our $100M+ Email Success Platform, which includes Litmus, Everest, and BriteVerify. This role will partner closely with the executive leadership team on all aspects of product strategy, execution, and go-to-market. Reporting to the SVP of Product Management, the VP will be responsible for building an AI-powered platform that unifies Validity's products and unlocks new capabilities to help our customers reach, engage, and grow their audiences. We have an ambitious growth agenda as a transformational leader in customer engagement. Success in this role will require a deep understanding of customer engagement data ecosystems, a 3 - 5 year perspective on market opportunities, and a relentless focus on execution to bring scalable, innovative solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the end-to-end product strategy and execution for the Email Success Platform.
  • Champion the voice of the customer and embed a customer-first mindset across all product development stages.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact user experiences, balancing digital innovation with human-assisted touchpoints.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a diverse, inclusive, high-performing team of product managers focused on outcomes and excellence.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to deeply understand customer behavior and identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and retention.
  • Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver products that are intuitive, scalable, and aligned to our brand and business strategy.
  • Develop product capabilities that deliver measurable business impact-growth, retention, revenue, and engagement.
  • Operate with accountability to KPIs such as conversion, LTV, CAC, engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Clearly articulate strategy, trade-offs, and impact to senior stakeholders, including the C-suite and Board.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and collaboration models to scale efficiently.
  • Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities, lead diligence, and drive seamless product integration.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of product leadership experience, including at $50M-$100M+ revenue companies.
  • Experience at multiple company scales: small (<$50M), medium ($150M-$500M), and large (> $500M).
  • Proven experience and success managing and mentoring large, geographically distributed product teams and leading them through a significant growth phase at a mid-sized company.
  • Recognized thought leadership in the MarTech industry (conference speaking, published content, or strong social presence) with significant exposure to email marketing and customer engagement technologies.
  • Hands-on leadership style: able to frame a P&L, conduct a competitive analysis, and clearly articulate business growth levers.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional influence, driving organizational change and improving processes.
  • Experience across the full lifecycle of corporate development: identifying and assessing acquisition targets, driving diligence, and leading integration.
  • Experience implementing PLG (product-led growth) and unifying separate platforms into a cohesive customer experience.
  • Deep user empathy, strong product intuition, and a track record of building high-quality, design-forward products that delight.
  • Ability to synthesize data, research, and market signals into clear prioritization and product innovation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI and unifying multiple platforms into a cohesive customer experience.
  • Strong exposure to email marketing and customer engagement technologies.
  • Thought leadership in the MarTech industry through speaking, publishing, or social presence.
