The VP, Provider Product Strategy & Integrated GTM, is a senior executive role responsible for managing Optum Insight’s provider product and innovation portfolio, coordinating investments and innovation across market teams, and working across Optum and UHG to maximize growth and optimize investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically oversee all products in the provider business portfolio.
  • Define integrated strategies and ensure alignment with the provider market's overall strategy.
  • Develop strategies and integrated provider roadmaps to prioritize products effectively.
  • Work closely with the OI Portfolio function to drive portfolio decisions regarding product lifecycle changes.
  • Conduct strategic planning for the portfolio.
  • Identify market opportunities and develop new product ideas.
  • Collaborate with product managers to align strategies and roadmaps with market goals.
  • Manage a portfolio of external client community efforts (e.g., customer advisory boards, university collaboration).
  • Lead market and product collaboration via experts and deal support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and prioritize client requirements.
  • Coordinate go-to-market efforts across OI provider product organization.
  • Serve as an executive partner to senior leaders across OI Provider to engage in product strategies.
  • Drive disruptive innovation and push the organization to deliver capabilities that enable growth.
  • Establish a shared product, solution, or service vision for the provider business by building consensus on priorities.
  • Ensure product, solution, or service alignment with Optum Insight’s strategic and competitive position.
  • Provide exceptional people leadership by engaging, developing, and retaining key executives and attracting top talent.

Requirements

  • 15 or more years of combined experience with a proven record of launching large-scale product innovations and delivering measurable results.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions.
  • Track record of active collaboration, engagement, oversight, and strategy development of key growth opportunities.
  • Skilled in organizational development, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Experience managing a team of high-performing leaders supporting a portfolio of initiatives.
  • Demonstrated visionary thinking and ability to translate business strategies into competitive advantages.
  • Experience acting as an innovative thought leader and business partner to executives across multiple business units.
  • Experience motivating, developing, coaching, and guiding people in a matrixed organization through change.
  • Experience managing a team plus indirect staff across multiple geographies.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to Optum’s Vision and Values.
  • Availability for limited business travel (approximately 25%).

Nice to Have

  • Master's in Business Administration preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in strategy & financial planning and leading strategic go-to-market initiatives in healthcare services, strategy consulting, or software companies.
  • Experience supporting Provider Markets.

Qualifications

  • Formal educational background including a preferred Master’s in Business Administration.
  • Proven experience in large-scale product innovation and strategic leadership in healthcare or related fields.
