About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain relationships with core clients and external audiences and partners.
• Serve as the lead strategic social media counsel for client engagements based on broad communications landscape and business goals; take immediate action on client feedback.
• Lead all aspects of planning and execution of social media projects for clients, including annual program planning, ensuring timeliness, efficiency, and high-quality results.
• Respond to client concerns with strategic guidance and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Manage financial tracking and administration related to social programming for key client engagements, including sharing updates and supporting projections.
• Serve as a facilitator/moderator for social media-related client workshops and events.
• Lead onboarding of new team members and serve as a mentor and resource for social and influencer best practices.
• Provide feedback and support staff development, conduct reviews, and oversee professional growth.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, lead client interactions, and ensure quality in all outputs.
• Drive agency recommendations, idea generation, and proactively seek new business opportunities.
• Support business development efforts, including proposal development and presentations.
• Ensure financial goals are met, including achieving billability targets and supporting budget development.
• Participate in company initiatives, training, and foster a positive organizational culture.

Requirements

• Typically has 10+ years of relevant experience in social media and digital communications.
• Experience managing multiple high-profile social media projects and client accounts independently.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, with 1-2+ direct reports.
• Strong strategic thinking, presentation skills, and executive presence.
• Deep knowledge of social media strategies and platform nuances across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, with working knowledge of YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat, Bluesky.
• Understanding of social media tools and web-based research tools such as Netbase, Brandwatch, Julius.
• Ability to manage budgets, financial tracking, and staffing resources effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, including writing, client liaison, and internal collaboration.
• Ability to lead social listening, research projects, and derive actionable insights.
• Commitment to professional development, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Nice to Have

• Experience with social media audits, listening projects, and influencer discovery.
• Familiarity with social media approval tools such as Zinc and PromoMats.
• Experience in health communications or related fields.
