WEB SITE & MEDIA SPECIALIST

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Build, update and manage SGU's official website to ensure accuracy, accessibility and functionality.
• Create and manage databases and work with datasets to support development communications and reporting needs.
• Ensure compliance with security and ADA accessibility standards.
• Provide training and guidance to the staff for departmental webpage updates.
• Serve as manager or co-manager of SGU's official YouTube channel, ensuring regular, high-quality content.
• Capture and edit photography and video for student, staff, and community projects.
• Create multimedia content to support special projects, events, fundraising campaigns, and student engagement.
• Learn and apply multimedia editing skills for video, audio, and graphics.
• Develop and manage SGU's presence across multiple media outlets, including social media channels.
• Support special projects and campaigns led by the Development Department through digital marketing.
• Collaborate with communications staff to ensure cohesive messaging.
• Actively network with peers, media outlets, and partners to amplify SGU's visibility.
• Work closely with the Director of Development to align digital content with strategic goals.
• Provide website and media support for scholarships, alumni engagement, community events, and outreach.
• Travel as needed to document and promote SGU programs, events, and partnerships.
• Support storytelling initiatives that highlight SGU's role in Tribal higher education and its service to the Sicangu Lakota Oyate and Indian Community.

Requirements

• Experience in website development, digital media, or related fields.
• Ability to create multimedia content including photography, video, and graphics.
• Knowledge of digital marketing and social media management.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities.
• Outgoing and self-motivated personality.
• Ability to travel as needed for documentation and promotion.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with database management and datasets.
• Knowledge of ADA accessibility standards and security compliance.
• Experience working with tribal or indigenous communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in digital media, website management, or related fields.
