About the Role

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) invites applications for the role of Web Strategist. The Web Strategist supports the university's website strategies and initiatives through content development, website maintenance, digital marketing campaigns, training, and accessibility remediation. This position serves as a central resource for web content best practices, providing guidance to stakeholders across UNR Med and works closely with the senior web position within the organization. The role reports to the Lead, Marketing and Communications, and requires collaboration, sound judgment, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Support and contribute to UNR Med website strategies and initiatives.
Develop and optimize web content to enhance website effectiveness.
Maintain and update website content and digital marketing campaigns.
Provide training and education on web content management and accessibility standards.
Ensure web content complies with accessibility standards and best practices.
Guide stakeholders on web content best practices and content strategy.
Work closely with the senior web position and other team members to align web initiatives with organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and two years of related professional experience OR Master's Degree and one year of related professional experience.
Editorial experience and content writing in the English language.
Knowledge and understanding of enterprise content management systems (CMS).
Experience with web accessibility standards, HTML, and SEO implementation.
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, demonstrate sound judgment, and prioritize tasks.

Nice to Have

Experience in search engine optimization (SEO).
Experience in web content planning and editorial calendars.
Familiarity with web content management systems and enterprise CMS platforms.

Qualifications

Educational background as specified in the requirements (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
