The role involves working within the wireless network team to develop and optimize 4G/5G RAN systems, support product development, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product rollouts and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis for 4G/5G RAN systems.
  • Lead field integration testing efforts (FFA/FIT/FSA) of key features with customers and drive cross-functional teams to software acceptance.
  • Analyze customer requirements, convert them into system requirements, and create detailed designs for development teams.
  • Deliver technical proposals, research papers, design documents, operator network designs, RFI/RFP responses, and patent filings.
  • Provide product and feature performance analysis, evaluate new products, software releases, and third-party products to build synergies.
  • Review and recommend improvements to LTE RAN network performance by evaluating KPIs and performing trials and optimizations.
  • Support pre-sales activities by creating technical and commercial solutions and educating customers on Samsung products and services.
  • Collaborate with support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams for product rollouts and development.
  • Provide Tier 3 support by analyzing and troubleshooting scheduler-related issues reported from labs, field sites, and networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of technical experience in Wireless Telecommunication Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Development.
  • In-depth knowledge of RRC, S1-MME, S1-U, and X2 protocols.
  • Understanding of concepts such as Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, 5G Numerologies.
  • Experience with 3GPP RAN product architecture, design, implementation, and performance KPIs.
  • Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications for LTE/LTE-A/5G features and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of RF antenna technologies and network optimizations.
  • Ability to travel sporadically during the project.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with system engineering activities such as feature requirements identification, parameter optimization, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with ongoing 3GPP Rel-15/16 activities.
  • Strong programming skills in C, including memory optimizations and multi-core programming.
  • Experience with assembly language debugging.
  • Good understanding of scheduler functionality.

  • Educational background as specified in requirements (Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering).
