About the Role

The Account Administrator I is responsible for supervising customer service and administrative aspects of assigned accounts, managing customer relationships, and supporting the retention and growth of insurance business. The role involves representing First Mid Insurance Group, partnering with insurance companies, and ensuring client needs are met through teamwork and professional service.

Key Responsibilities

Delivers outstanding customer service at all times, including proactively anticipating customer needs, maintaining frequent and professional customer communication, and responding quickly to service requests.
Maintains a high degree of technical competence and industry/market expertise.
Maintains policy expiration list to ensure timely renewal and delivery of policies.
Monitors accounts receivable balances on assigned accounts.
Cross-sell insurance and bank services in a professional manner.
Complete required training associated with job function.
Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and two years' experience in insurance preferred or a minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance.
Both an Illinois Insurance Producers license and a valid Illinois Drivers license are required for this role.
Prior work with Excel, Word, and related software is required.
Thorough knowledge of insurance products and coverages.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and thoroughness, with emphasis on meeting deadlines.
High level of organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations both internally and externally.
Ability to empathize with customers and respond appropriately.
Thorough knowledge of Accord forms.
May be required to work earlier or later than the normal workday and outside of the office to facilitate extended hours or customer visits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
Two years' experience in insurance or a minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance
Illinois Insurance Producers license
Valid Illinois Drivers license
