About the Role

With 64 television stations across 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA reaches over 100 million people monthly through various platforms including web, mobile apps, streaming, and television. WUSA-TV Washington, a TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate, is seeking an Account Executive responsible for achieving sales goals across multiple marketing solutions and acting as a marketing consultant to clients in the Washington market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently prospect for new revenue opportunities using client and category insights.
  • Upsell current clients by engaging them in the full product line of WUSA-TV Washington offerings.
  • Create custom solutions-driven campaigns that meet client needs across multiple media platforms including broadcast, digital, and Streaming (OTT).
  • Seek opportunities to expand relationships with key clients by understanding their business needs and competitive landscape.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal team members by providing the Account Management team with clear and concise direction for the successful execution of campaigns.
  • Partner with your Account Manager to provide exceptional customer service and contract fulfillment.
  • Strategically utilize Matrix and station CRM to manage day-to-day activity, pipeline, and forecasts.
  • Represent the media group positively and professionally at community events and with surrounding businesses.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of account engagement in a professional, fast-paced media sales environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully achieving or exceeding sales goals and developing new business opportunities.
  • Established knowledge of marketing solutions including broadcasting and digital advertising, audio, and interactive media.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems to project manage workload and achieve goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for proactive client and team interaction.
  • Ability to develop creative campaigns focused on solving client needs.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Strong business acumen with attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic.

Nice to Have

  • Experience operating news gathering vehicles and possessing a current driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle (preferred).
