Job Description

About the Role

The Sales Manager, Individual Travel, at Hyatt is responsible for selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel, and wholesale groups. The role involves managing accounts, preparing proposals, maintaining documentation, utilizing Hyatt technology systems, and coordinating customer service with hotel operations. It also includes participating in and leading meetings, working as part of a team with sales, catering, and support staff, all within Hyatt's warm, respectful, and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through various channels such as corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel, and wholesale groups.
  • Managing current accounts and ensuring proper solicitation of all transient markets.
  • Preparing and presenting effective proposals and presentations.
  • Maintaining well-organized documentation and reports.
  • Utilizing Hyatt technology systems such as Hotelligence, RFP Express, Lanyon, and Salesforce.com.
  • Coordinating customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate.
  • Participating in and potentially leading event meetings, sales meetings, and other staff meetings.
  • Working as a team member with sales, catering, administrative, and support staff.

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, Hotelligence, RFP Express, Lanyon, and Salesforce.com.
  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training.
  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation skills training.
  • Community involvement and/or professional association involvement is highly regarded.
