Job Description

About the Role

The Account Executive at Republic Services is responsible for identifying leads, proactively prospecting, and selling new and profitable business within an assigned geographic area. The role involves selling the full suite of Republic Services products, including waste and recycling containers, electronic and universal recycling, and total waste stream management solutions. The position requires regular engagement with prospective clients to deliver sales presentations, follow up with decision makers, and grow the company's customer base in the designated market area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies viable leads, manages prospects, and acquires new, profitable commercial, industrial, and recycling business to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals.
  • Follows up on leads received by Lead Generators within 2 hours and creates follow-up tasks in Salesforce to determine next steps.
  • Utilizes Salesforce daily to schedule and document activities, develop customer profiles, and facilitate customer acquisition.
  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations to prospective clients and follows up with decision makers to close sales.
  • Conducts scheduled phone prospecting activities and cold calls to establish initial and follow-up appointments with decision-makers.
  • Maintains awareness of market behavior and competitive trends to anticipate customer needs.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company services, lines of business, and pricing structures; offers additional services to grow revenue.
  • Completes required Customer Service Agreements, reports, and paperwork in a timely manner according to company policy.
  • Regularly meets with the Sales Manager to review customer retention, relationship activities, and progress toward goals.
  • Builds relationships and increases company visibility through participation in company-sponsored events, trade shows, and community activities.
  • Acts as a company representative at community events as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct selling experience in a customer-facing role that includes identifying and addressing customer needs.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice to Have

  • Waste or service industry experience.

Qualifications

  • Mid-level Driver's License.
