About the Role

The Account Manager at Market Enginuity Inc. is responsible for representing KCRW 89.9 FM, pursuing sales opportunities, managing sponsorship accounts, and building relationships with advertising agencies and clients. The role involves leveraging media products to generate revenue and support independent media in the Los Angeles region, with a focus on sales performance, proposal development, and account management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and close new sponsors and increase revenue from existing accounts.
  • Maintain an account list and develop new business to drive revenue growth through sales activities, including customer visits and Zoom calls.
  • Deliver professional, solution-based proposals to clients and prospects, including co-op, negotiated fee schedules, and related requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with advertising agencies, sponsors, and colleagues.
  • Track and manage activity by documenting in the CRM system.
  • Spend time hunting for new business, meeting with business leaders and agencies, and managing existing accounts.
  • Propose and sell sponsorship schedules, programs, and events to build and maintain relationships.
  • Develop and grow the account list by prospecting and engaging with new clients, utilizing local market media and competitor insights.
  • Collaborate with team members, including a Business Development Specialist, to craft proposals and support sponsorship efforts.
  • Ensure sponsor messages air without issue and contribute to fueling independent media in Los Angeles.

Requirements

  • Experience in outside B2B sales, account development, new business development, and agency management.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods for promoting and selling.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a history of developing trusted relationships.
  • Understanding of digital media and success in selling integrated programs including on-air, digital, and events.
  • Experience in cause marketing strategy and execution is a plus.
  • Broad-based business acumen with marketing knowledge across key categories.
  • Strong understanding of the Los Angeles market, including decision makers, local events, and key accounts.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
