About the Role

The Account Manager at Caris is responsible for maintaining and growing volume within existing customer accounts in a designated territory. The role involves driving growth, fostering deep customer relationships, positioning Caris as the primary source for tumor profiling, and supporting new account acquisition. The position supports physicians and healthcare providers with molecular oncology solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction from order initiation to report receipt, and requires a minimum of 3+ years sales experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostic industry. Caris is a leader in molecular science and AI-driven healthcare innovation, committed to transforming cancer care and improving lives through precision medicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Customers, Client Service Partners, Molecular Oncology Specialists (MOSs), Regional Business Directors, and other support personnel to provide the highest level of customer support and satisfaction.
  • Regularly and consistently call on customers to introduce and promote assigned Caris solutions including Molecular Intelligence testing, technology interfaces, physician consultations, etc.
  • Successfully execute customer retention strategies.
  • Interact with existing customers to establish a value-based relationship resulting in increased sales and service to clients.
  • Evaluate current and prospective customer sites and prepare strategies & programs to improve revenue, costs, and productivity.
  • Present and demonstrate different Caris technology solutions.
  • Establish a communication schedule with MOS teammates, Client Services, and Commercial Leadership to exchange feedback, success stories, challenges, and best practices.
  • Provide customer updates via CRM and maintain all assigned company assets.
  • Submit necessary paperwork such as travel itineraries, trip reports, activity reports, and expense reports accurately and timely.
  • Meet all assigned targets and goals set by management.
  • Support physicians with the complexity of ordering and interpreting the CMI platform and QC report quality/accuracy, which may involve access to protected health information (PHI).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of successful Sales and/or Account Management experience.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability and effective communication skills.
  • General understanding of clinic-based business policies and practices.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of proprietary software programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work in a complex, matrix team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven skills in problem management, process analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle, and insurance meeting company requirements.
  • Willingness to spend approximately 60% of time in the field meeting clients and prospects.

Nice to Have

  • Pharma, Medical Device, or Diagnostic experience.
  • Oncology experience.
