About the Role

The Account Manager Life Science role involves driving the expansion of the company's Life Science business by securing new sales and fostering growth within existing accounts. The position requires providing excellent customer support, building relationships, and supporting research and education goals for customers such as Researchers, Librarians, Research Leaders, and administrators at academic and research institutions. The company, Elsevier, is a global leader in information and analytics supporting science, healthcare, and research to improve health outcomes and advance scientific progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieving overall revenue targets for a portfolio of scientific databases and solutions, including Solutions Products and Content Licensing.
  • Understanding client needs in a consultative approach and translating them into realistic propositions and packages supporting the sales strategy.
  • Working closely with regional and federal government agencies to develop projects for scientific databases and solutions.
  • Formulating and implementing account strategies tailored to market needs and addressing differentiated needs at all account levels.
  • Conducting annual account planning and execution, ensuring Salesforce is always up to date.
  • Reviewing sales results and forecasts via tools like Clari and adjusting actions accordingly.
  • Gathering, monitoring, and evaluating competitor information and providing market feedback to enhance product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Participating in trade shows and conferences to support strategic objectives.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with decision makers and influencers at customer organizations.

Requirements

  • Experience at senior levels in sales, account management, or similar roles with a proven track record selling technology and solutions.
  • Ability to operate on operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and skilled at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior levels.
  • Experience in expanding business with customers and strategic account planning.
  • Knowledge of specific Life Science solution areas and complex solution-sales approaches, including consultative selling.
  • Experience working with research administration and management functions, and understanding regional or national research programs and collaboration networks.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience selling enterprise software and working within an international matrixed organization.

Qualifications
