About the Role

The Account Manager- Medical Device at Mizuho OSI is responsible for generating and closing sales of medical device products and services to hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physicians within a defined geographic territory. The role involves supporting healthcare professionals, maintaining professional relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Gain market knowledge and stay informed about procedures, new technologies, and techniques to develop effective sales approaches.
  • Develop professional relationships within the healthcare community, including physicians, hospital management, procurement, and clinical personnel.
  • Evaluate customer needs and emphasize product features using technical knowledge of current offerings.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and maintain a three-year sales funnel in Salesforce.com.
  • Negotiate terms of sale including pricing, warranty, and special features with clinical and administrative staff.
  • Educate and train customers on Mizuho OSI products, providing pre- and post-sale demonstrations and clinical support.
  • Attend surgical cases to support staff in the use of products and equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain sales activity reports and update CRM system daily.
  • Represent Mizuho OSI at tradeshows and courses when requested.
  • Provide sales coverage for vacant territories and train other team members.
  • Uncrate and set up capital equipment at customer facilities.
  • Complete expense reports and participate in company vehicle and communication programs.
  • Analyze problems independently and make logical decisions to overcome challenges while supporting company policies and quality systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field; three to five years of selling experience in the medical marketplace preferred.
  • Excellent customer focus with a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written English proficiency.
  • Professional appearance and outgoing personality with a willingness to assist others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Effective presentation and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Basic arithmetic, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and meet goals independently and work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Trust Triangle sales process (preferred).
  • Ability to function in an operating room environment and attend surgical procedures as necessary.
  • Must live within 20 miles of the assigned territory and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel extensively (50-75%) within the U.S. and Canada, covering travel expenses.

Nice to Have

  • Additional languages besides English.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Three to five years of sales experience in the medical device or capital equipment marketplace.
