And we do it all with heart, each and every day. The primary role of the Account Manager is to execute on strategies developed by the Account Executive. The Account Manager is also expected to maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers to help achieve retention and growth objectives year over year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute tactical components of the Account Executive business plan for each client.
  • Analyze client utilization data to understand cost drivers.
  • Make plan design and new product recommendations to the Account Director.
  • Schedule, prepare for, and participate in client meetings with the Account Executive or independently.
  • Act as day-to-day contact for client management issues such as report analysis, contract questions, compliance education, stop loss policy management, etc.
  • Provide support and direction on regulatory issues and healthcare trends impacting plans.
  • Complete plan analyses to aid in financial decision making and plan recommendations.
  • Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understand the competitive environment and market opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal partners (underwriting, sales, operations, business analytics, etc).
  • Work collaboratively across business functions to meet customer needs.
  • Follow through on outstanding items to resolution.
  • Monitor internal performance to ensure client needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate client records.
  • Participate and/or host client meetings as appropriate.
  • Organize and execute open enrollment strategies, health fairs, and employee education meetings.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of work experience in the self-funded industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the health plan market.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
