About the Role

The Account Service Manager, Sr - Pharmacy Account Management is responsible for providing highly advanced account management representation and strategic planning for major accounts within CarelonRx, part of Elevance Health. The role involves managing large accounts, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and maintaining ongoing relationships at multiple levels to improve customer satisfaction and health outcomes. The position supports a hybrid work environment with in-office and virtual work, focusing on delivering a digital-first pharmacy experience that emphasizes whole person care and affordability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic planning and account management for large accounts.
  • Directs and manages the administration of contractual requirements and obligations.
  • Manages the new and renewal implementation process for accounts.
  • Interfaces with operations to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Maintains ongoing account relationships at multiple levels throughout the customer's organization.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to meet customers' expectations.
  • Develops implementation processes and manages reporting processes to ensure client retention and high levels of account satisfaction.
  • Provides both on-site and off-site account management, including interpreting plan design, researching and resolving inquiries, claims, benefit, and enrollment issues.
  • Presents monthly, ad hoc, mid-year, and annual utilization and benefit reporting to brokers and clients.
  • Coordinates open enrollment meetings, renewal processes, and training sessions.
  • Participates in efforts to support standardization across accounts and works in multi-disciplinary teams to design and implement product and operational enhancements.
  • Provides guidance or expertise to less experienced account service managers.
  • Makes routine account visits and attends client meetings as necessary.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing business operations and/or customer relationships, or equivalent education and experience.
  • A sales license may be required.
  • Willingness to travel to worksite and other locations as necessary.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry, notably in pharmacy benefits.
  • PBM experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts towards common goals.
  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive stakeholders, influencing decision-making.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with negotiation experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams, CRM tools, and Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business operations or customer relationship management
