Account Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion among all associates.
• Provides support to the Account Manager & Account Executive on large and complex client accounts by preparing coverage comparisons, submissions, premium & rate comparisons, and processing audits on policies.
• Interacts with clients (written or verbal) regarding special program needs and new assignments.
• Understands and delivers on unique client expectations within the book of business.
• Temporarily backs up the Account Manager as needed to ensure seamless service.
• Problem-solves and suggests proactive solutions to the Account Manager and Account Executive.
• Responsible for loss analysis, invoicing, trending, tracking, and reconciliation tasks.
• Manages assigned special client needs such as allocation spreadsheets and industry-specific reporting.
• Reviews certificates of insurance requests and provides direction related to invoicing, policy processing, and client-specific instructions.
• Performs endorsement processing, billing, reviews notices of cancellations, and analyzes loss data within Experience Mods.
• Participates in internal review meetings and supports special client projects.
• Works independently and leads project-specific assignments.

Requirements

• Applicable experience in insurance or related field; specialty experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain data completeness standards within AMS systems.
• Achieved general insurance designation; pursuing other insurance designations is preferred.
• Project and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and ensure process continuity.
• Experience with MS Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Limited travel required (less than 10%).

Nice to Have

• Specialty insurance experience.
• Pursuing additional insurance designations.

Qualifications

• General insurance designation or equivalent experience.
