Account Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values.
• Provides support to the Account Manager & Account Executive on large and complex client accounts by preparing coverage comparisons, submissions, premium & rate comparisons, processes audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies and other special requests.
• Interact with clients (written or verbal) regarding special program needs and new assignments.
• Understand and deliver on unique client expectations within book of business.
• Temporarily back up Account Managers as needed to ensure seamless client service.
• Ability to problem-solve and suggest proactive solutions to Account Managers and Account Executives.
• Responsible for loss analysis and loss-specific tasks related to invoicing, trending, tracking, and reconciliation.
• Manage assigned special client needs such as allocation spreadsheets and coverage details based on entities, locations, or property ownership.
• Utilize the AMS to keep detailed information on accounts, including uploading policies and inputting large schedules.
• Control industry-specific reporting and review certificate of insurance requests, providing direction related to invoicing, policy processing, and client instructions.
• Perform endorsement processing, billing, review notices of cancellations, analyze loss data within Experience Mods, and participate in internal and external meetings.
• Work independently and lead project-specific assignments.
• Support in special client projects as needed.

Requirements

• Applicable experience required with specialty experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work within AMS maintaining data completeness standards.
• Achieved general insurance designation; pursuing other insurance designations is preferred.
• Project and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and ensure process continuity.
• Experience with MS Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Limited travel required (less than 10%).
• Strong insurance knowledge and/or client specialty knowledge.
