Account Specialist - Construction

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all associates.
• Provides support to the Account Manager & Account Executive on large and complex client accounts by preparing coverage comparisons, submissions, premium & rate comparisons, processes audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies, and other special requests.
• Interacts with clients (written or verbal) regarding special program needs and new assignments.
• Understands and delivers on unique client expectations within the book of business.
• Temporarily back up Account Managers as needed to ensure continuous service.
• Problem-solves and suggests proactive solutions to Account Managers and Account Executives.
• Responsible for loss analysis and loss-specific tasks related to invoicing, trending, tracking, and reconciliation.
• Handles assigned special client needs such as allocation spreadsheets and industry-specific reporting.
• Reviews certificates of insurance requests and provides direction related to invoicing, surplus lines, policy processing, and client-specific instructions.
• Performs endorsement processing, billing, reviews notices of cancellations, analyzes loss data, participates in internal review meetings, and supports special client projects.
• Works independently and leads project-specific assignments.

Requirements

• Applicable experience required with specialty experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work within AMS and maintain data completeness standards.
• Achieved general insurance designation; pursuing other insurance designations is preferred.
• Project and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and ensure process continuity.
• Experience with MS Office products required, specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Limited travel required (less than 10%).

Nice to Have

• Specialty insurance experience.

Qualifications

• General insurance designation achieved or in progress.
