About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with farmers and agri-businesses to understand their production goals, market outlook, and risk tolerance.
• Analyze market trends, crop forecasts, global trade patterns, and economic factors influencing grain prices.
• Develop personalized grain or livestock marketing plans and strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs and objectives.
• Advise clients on pricing alternatives, cash and futures contracts by monitoring local basis and reviewing hedging strategies and risk management tools.
• Educate clients on industry best practices, market dynamics, and the utilization of technology in grain marketing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Economics, or another related field.
• 5 years work experience.
• Series 3 Certification (obtainable upon hire).
• Proven experience in livestock and/or grain marketing, agricultural consulting or a similar role in the agricultural industry.
• Strong understanding of grain markets, crop and livestock production processes, and risk management strategies.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends as it relates to grain and livestock pricing and contracting procedures.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Self-motivation, organization, planning and time management skills.

Nice to Have

• Having an agricultural background is preferred.
• High degree of time and travel flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Economics, or related field.
• 5 years work experience.
• Series 3 Certification (obtainable upon hire).
