About the Role

RealTruck's Amazon Visual Merchandising and Marketing Director will be a cross-functional leader shaping the digital consumer experience on Amazon by overseeing all aspects of the Amazon marketing strategy, visual merchandising, content strategy, reporting, and campaign planning/execution. This results-oriented role will balance art and science to develop, plan, and lead seasonal optimized product storytelling that inspires consumers to choose RealTruck products. The position requires expertise to drive sales growth, enhance brand presence, and optimize the entire consumer journey on the highly competitive Amazon platform. The Director will be a key leader, collaborating with cross-function teams to ensure market share leadership and profitability goals. This role is part of the Marketing Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Amazon marketing and visual merchandising strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives, driving profitable growth for the 1P business.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and customer preferences.
  • Oversee the development, planning, and content of Amazon marketing campaigns, including Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Display Ads, etc.) and promotional activities.
  • Define clear objectives and KPIs for Amazon marketing and merchandising.
  • Lead the end-to-end optimization of Amazon Product Detail Pages (PDPs), including A+ Content, titles, bullet points, imagery, and keyword integration for new and existing ASINs, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Spearhead Brand Store development and merchandising strategies to improve navigation, education, and conversion rates.
  • Manage and optimize product listings, focusing on compelling content, brand consistency, and adherence to marketplace algorithms.
  • Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to refine product positioning and enhance conversion rates.
  • Partner with marketing, creative, and content teams to ensure content needs are met and launched on time.
  • Collaborate with the Amazon account team on operational and commercial needs, acting as a cross-functional lead.
  • Monitor and analyze key Amazon KPIs, including Buy Box ownership, sales velocity, conversion rate, IPI, and Glance Views, making data-driven adjustments.
  • Work with Amazon Vendor Central and relevant teams to ensure policy compliance.
  • Identify and implement automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Manage budget and scope of work for internal teams or external agencies supporting Amazon visual merchandising, content, and advertising.
  • Monitor and respond to Amazon customer reviews, ratings, and Q&A to inform product and content improvements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, marketing, eCommerce, media, and customer service to align strategies.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering continuous learning and innovation.
  • Provide regular performance reports and insights to leadership, highlighting growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate to improve processes, identify opportunities, and scale best practices and governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership/management/supervisory experience, including building teams from the ground up.
  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce with a focus on Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) management within a consumer products company.
  • 5+ years of consumer-focused ecommerce experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working in large-scale matrixed companies with strong digital acumen.
  • 7+ years of site merchandising, marketing, or product management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital storytelling, brand marketing, CX, or loyalty.
  • Proven knowledge of Amazon platform technology integrations and ability to evaluate and optimize solutions.
  • Deep expertise in Amazon advertising suite (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Display Ads), SEO, A+ Content, and Brand Store development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Proficiency in Amazon Vendor Central and e-commerce analytics tools (e.g., Profitero, Salsify, Amazon Brand Analytics).
  • Hands-on technical expertise in site merchandising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to change.
  • Ability to set team objectives, develop future leaders, and work cross-functionally.

Nice to Have

  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and optimizing Amazon system integrations.
  • Knowledge of unpaid and paid digital channels including SEO, CRM, and Affiliates.
  • Experience in developing and executing digital storytelling strategies.
