About the Role

Our partner is revolutionizing how individuals and businesses discover, learn about, and use AI. They are building an innovative, consumer-facing AI marketplace that provides access to a wide range of AI models—from LLMs to image and video creation—without requiring multiple subscriptions. The platform includes a social component to educate users and enable creators to monetize their work. Led by a visionary founder, the company is a fast-growing, well-funded startup seeking a results-driven President to lead the next phase of growth in San Diego, California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a bold vision to scale the AI marketplace, leading consumer-focused go-to-market strategies, brand positioning, and customer acquisition campaigns.
  • Partner closely with the founder and an active board to align on strategic priorities and drive day-to-day operations with autonomy and authority.
  • Lead the creation of compelling B2C marketing campaigns, leveraging data-driven insights to build brand loyalty and attract a diverse customer base.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and rapid execution.
  • Drive strategies to balance supply (AI providers) and demand (customers), expanding the platform's reach and revenue through innovative partnerships and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage financial performance, budgeting, and forecasting to support sustainable growth, while optimizing platform operations for scalability and efficiency.
  • Act as a thought leader in the AI space, representing the company at industry events and championing the marketplace's transformative potential.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a startup or similarly fast-paced, resource-limited environment where wearing multiple hats and quick adaptation are necessary.
  • A strong background as a go-to-market marketing expert with a track record of successfully launching and scaling consumer-facing tech products.
  • Deep experience with direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing, including digital marketing, brand building, and customer acquisition campaigns with measurable results.
  • A demonstrated passion for and deep knowledge of AI, including researching and using various AI tools, platforms, and trends.
  • Prior executive leadership experience (e.g., President, CMO, or similar C-level role) with direct responsibility for go-to-market strategy and revenue growth.
  • Comfortable and effective working with an active, hands-on board, demonstrating a collaborative mindset and the ability to make rapid decisions.
