About the Role

The Area Manager-Restaurant Food Sales is responsible for developing independent account business with a focus on profitability through new sales and account penetration. The role involves promoting and selling company branded products, supporting customer service activities for regional and/or national chain customers, and increasing market visibility. The position is based in Panama City, Florida, within Performance Foodservice, a broadline distributor that builds close relationships with local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generates additional business by analyzing sales territory and individual customers, sampling products, planning sales strategies, and conducting effective sales presentations.
  • Grows sales and profit margins continuously to meet established sales and margin goals.
  • Sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing, working with Credit Department for initial authorization, and coordinating order-taking and deliveries.
  • Performs initial follow-up with customers to ensure delivery and product satisfaction.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing exemplary service and coordinating efforts to prevent and resolve customer problems.
  • May personally make deliveries in emergency situations.
  • Builds additional business with current customers through product penetration to maximize profitability.
  • Minimizes accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for credit compliance and following up on issues.
  • Maintains awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, especially on market-driven and commodity products.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6-12 months sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience
  • Valid Drivers License

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or related area
  • 1-2 years foodservice sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6-12 months sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience
  • Valid Drivers License
