About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Development team as an Assistant Manager, Non-Traditional Business Development based in Miami, FL. The Non-Traditional channel is strategically important in Subway's multi-year, global refresh journey, and the Assistant Manager, Non-Traditional Business Development plays a key support role to drive many of those strategies forward. From supporting the team’s franchise sales efforts through forecasting and tracking the sales pipeline; to participating in the expansion of Subway’s largest accounts; to project management of Subway’s franchise trade show exhibits, this role’s responsibilities are diverse and dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide sales support in successfully sourcing, qualifying, and securing new opportunities, particularly in Non-Traditional venues such as airports, universities, hospitals, c-stores, gas stations, and travel plazas.
  • Enter and maintain non-traditional site leads in CRM in alignment with site submission and evaluation process.
  • Manage cross-functionally with development, market planning, and construction teams to advance the opening pipeline.
  • Manage the Non-Trad forecast and track progress towards new restaurant opening targets.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for trade show vendors, providing direction and ensuring timely approvals and responses from Subway.
  • Coordinate with the Sr. Marketing Manager to ensure trade show presence and messaging align with B2B marketing campaigns.
  • Travel to major trade shows as needed, likely 1-2 per year.
  • Manage budget including securing quotes, exploring value-engineered solutions, and processing invoices.
  • Develop a standardized planning process for each trade show, including lead time management, strategy definition, stakeholder approvals, and post-show review.
  • Collaborate with marketing agencies and third-party vendors to develop graphics, marketing materials, handouts, giveaways, and activations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a corporate setting, ideally within marketing, event agency, brand marketing, sales, restaurant, or real estate development.
  • Possesses a growth mindset and is excited to win.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and work towards valuable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high emotional intelligence.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel, Smart Sheets, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to Have

  • Experience using Franconnect (preferred but not required).
  • Previous marketing and event planning experience, familiar with the creative process from briefing to approval and production.
