Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and partner in development and execution of the business area strategy and related section of category review process.
  • Manage a portion of the business area.
  • Responsible for product development innovation plan and flow for new launches.
  • Write product briefs.
  • Strategic product sourcing and vendor management.
  • Conduct testing and regulatory processes on products.
  • Create and approve program shade/fragrance names with Legal.
  • Create and manage internal testing and direction as needed.
  • Own packaging development with designer.
  • Populate development tracker with approvals and ensure on-track item setup.
  • Ensure on-time delivery for launches, including forecast tracking and PO due dates.
  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives, including key launch 360 marketing plans and dotcom brand presentation strategy.
  • Oversee Ulta Beauty Collection's role in corporate marketing initiatives (PR, Influencer Content, Marketing Sample Turnover).
  • Own sampling initiatives, develop samples and plans, and maintain sampling budget.
  • Collaborate with buyers on securing and developing off-shelf placement and marketing collateral for in-store merchandising.
  • Proactively assess and monitor the competitive landscape and marketplace for opportunities or threats.
  • Responsible for planogram flow and execution, including add/delete, productivity assessment, item setup, schematic and shelf strip content, fixture development, and graphics.
  • Proof planogram and graphic strips.
  • Pull, prepare, and analyze reports from BW, SAP, or Merchandising systems as needed.
  • Complete ongoing training and development courses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Distribution Centers, eCommerce, Marketing, Operations, Planning & Allocation, Stores, and brand partners.
  • Manage vendor portfolio, performance, and relationships to maximize profitability.
  • Negotiate vendor terms, item costs, exclusivity, newness, or exits to support financial plans and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in merchandising, planning, or inventory, with a strong preference for product development experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solid communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP Hana is a plus.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Passion for the business.
  • Strong financial aptitude and analytical ability.
  • Capability to lead supplier meetings.
  • Some travel required.

  • Pay range from $66,200.00 to $84,052.80 annually, with potential for additional bonus compensation.
