About the Role

The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Denali Software Engineer to join the Advanced Mission Management Denali group located in Herndon, VA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The role involves providing software engineering functions for the design, development, and maintenance of complex, multi-tiered application software systems used to support the command and control of space vehicles. The individual will work with System and Test Engineers to implement, test, and document new features and improvements for web services and applications supporting distributed computing solutions, within an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the Agile lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
  • Supports development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
  • Supports debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
  • Interfaces with the user community for troubleshooting technical issues, user feedback, and future design concepts
  • Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
  • Supports execution and documentation of software research and development projects
  • Interfaces with the integration and test team to inform execution and the development of automated tests

Requirements

  • 2 plus years' experience with designing and developing software using Java, Python, and/or C/C++/C#
  • Experience with cloud-based development
  • 3 years' experience Agile Development
  • Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (or recent active clearance within past 24 months)

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience participating in or leading an agile team
  • Experience writing unit tests
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Proficient with Agile and modern software development practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in relevant field (preferred but not required)
