About the Role

The Golf Associate Designer at Perry Ellis International is responsible for executing the entire design process and managing product lines within the company's diverse portfolio of lifestyle apparel brands. The role involves designing and developing specific product categories and collections under the guidance of senior design leadership, contributing to brand identity, and ensuring product alignment with market trends and business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Actively participate in the conceptual development of product lines, sell ideas and concepts, and present collections in internal meetings.
Assist in ensuring that product is consistent with market trends and business strategy.
Conduct trend research and gather inspiration for new designs.
Create illustrator sketches, 3D CAD designs, fit comments, and execute final products.
Partner with the design director and VP of Design to develop and maintain brand identity with a creative and current design approach.
Work with the design director to establish clear direction for fabric and print development teams.
Generate tech packs for new and carryover styles using the PLM system.
Collaborate with merchandising and product development teams to approve sales samples and ensure garments are production-ready.

Requirements

Knowledge of activewear fabrications and performance technologies.
High level of creativity with a passion for design.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Ability to learn new computer technologies, including 3D design.
Strong research, design, and conceptual skills.
Strong sense of color and taste level.
Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask.
Ability to present in front of an audience.
