About the Role

The Associate Director, Eye Care - Ocular Surface Disease Marketing at AbbVie will partner with sales and broader stakeholders to support business needs in the ocular surface disease market. The role involves deriving insights from data platforms to understand brand performance, marketplace dynamics, and growth opportunities, with a focus on collaboration, communication, and strategic planning within the US Eye Care organization and broader AbbVie teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the development of Launch and Brand strategies through the Launch Readiness and Brand Planning processes.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams and develop strategic brand plans.
  • Effectively communicate results of analytic and market research workstreams to influence action.
  • Partner with the Marketing Analytics & Business Insights team to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies and formulate recommendations for optimization.
  • Support the management of the Ocular Surface Disease marketing budget while identifying efficiencies and synergies to maximize resources.
  • Develop effective working relationships with salesforce, brand teams, and executive leadership.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in Ocular Surface Disease, Anterior Segment, and Eyecare.
  • Conduct routine field travel with the sales force to understand market drivers and dynamics.
  • Create marketing materials and navigate them through internal review/approval processes.
  • Manage external third-party vendors and meet internal procurement and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of competitors, product ranges, and promotional activities.
  • Lead the tactical design and implementation of marketing initiatives, including multi-channel campaigns, resources for physicians and patients, conference materials, sales training, internal campaigns, ad boards, and market research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of specialty sales/marketing experience.
  • Previous sales/marketing experience with a strong performance record.
  • Experience in product launches.
  • Experience in the strategic brand planning process.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Insurance and Medicare Part D.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with healthcare marketing analytics and data interpretation.
  • Vendor relationship building and management skills.
  • Experience with marketing collateral creation and campaign budget management.
  • Knowledge of the ocular surface disease market and anterior segment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in sales or marketing.
