About the Role

The Associate Director, International Marketing, Content Lead, Rheumatology at AbbVie is responsible for leading the development and execution of integrated communication strategies, focusing on designing, developing, and delivering healthcare professional (HCP) content across multiple channels. This role ensures strategic alignment with international business objectives, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and drives impactful communications to maximize customer engagement within the therapeutic area of rheumatology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and co-develop integrated communication strategies and key promotional deliverables aligned with the Integrated Brand Plan.
  • Direct the design and execution of content strategies to ensure tactical excellence and consistent alignment with business objectives; proactively refining approaches based on data, feedback, and evolving business needs.
  • Develop, align, and oversee creation of tailored messaging for HCP segments and value pools, ensuring delivery across relevant channels—including promotional materials, response handlers, HCP engagements, and congresses—while continuously refining content and messages informed by the ACE Impact Framework.
  • Drive adoption and integration of the new Content model, ensuring consistent implementation across all key content initiatives and collaborating with INBT, Area, and affiliates.
  • Conduct competitive landscape assessments to gather insights, evaluate, and adjust content to ensure differentiation, competitive readiness, and messaging effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, OEC, Legal, and affiliate teams to ensure robust content approval processes and efficient distribution.

Requirements

  • Proven pharmaceutical brand experience, including direct customer engagement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in therapeutic/disease areas, strategic communications, HCP segmentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Relevant experience in sales and marketing, with practical knowledge of Veeva and the content approval process.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-impact results within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and collaborative attitude; ability to foster strong relationships with peers, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled at influencing others, including those without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Upholds ethical standards, regulatory obligations, and legal requirements.
