About the Role

The Associate Director, Psychiatry Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy (PCS) Analytics & Performance Excellence at AbbVie is responsible for helping internal partners and stakeholders make informed strategic and operational decisions. This role leads Global Marketing Analytics and Business Insights to develop actionable recommendations based on market insights that address key business needs and objectives, supporting multiple disease states including Major Depression Disorder, Bipolar Depression, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The position involves guiding brand strategy, managing analytics projects, and providing insights to influence clinical programs and launch strategies within the psychiatry pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Global Marketing Analytics and Business Insights to facilitate and develop actionable recommendations based on market insights.
  • Independently lead Business Insights planning, implementation, communication of results, and alignment of brand strategies and plans.
  • Manage all aspects of Business Insights including RFP process, Vendor Selection, Study Design, Contract Execution, Budget Management, and scope of services.
  • Coordinate project planning, set timelines, gain cross-functional team alignment, shape conclusions and recommendations, and present results to Brand Teams, Senior Management, and Vendors.
  • Support Global Psychiatry Pipeline Assets across multiple disease states, advising on brand strategy and key initiatives based on data and analytics.
  • Enable cross-functional teams to make rapid, informed business decisions by framing and prioritizing critical questions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and key affiliates to co-create and execute plans, ensuring consistency in market understanding.
  • Identify analytics opportunities proactively to ensure decision-making is based on current, objective insights.
  • Contribute to the continuous brand planning process by analyzing market drivers, patient journey, competition, and positioning.
  • Incorporate competitive intelligence to anticipate competitor strategies and support market leadership.
  • Provide insights on current market dynamics and future evolution to guide clinical programs and launch strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to improve APEX data and analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted on time, within budget, and in compliance with financial and ethical guidelines.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MA, MS) preferred, with a concentration in marketing research, marketing, or social sciences.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a marketing analytics function (or 8 years with a PhD or Master’s degree).
  • Strong knowledge of key data sources and analytics approaches at the global and country level.
  • Experience developing and executing global analytics and research plans.
  • Ability to analyze and draw insights from quantitative and secondary data sets.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, story-telling, and thought leadership skills.
  • Analytical reasoning, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and problem-solving creativity.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional, global, and affiliate teams.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and foster collaboration across teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in psychiatry or related therapeutic areas.
  • Statistical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a BA or BS degree; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Experience in marketing analytics, preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
