About the Role

Associate Director, Oncology Regional Accounts at AstraZeneca is a pivotal role focused on channeling scientific advances to improve patients' lives by delivering innovative science and commercial capabilities to healthcare clients. The role involves working closely with oncology account leadership and cross-functional teams to support business priorities such as product launches, formulary access, and contract pull-through, within the geography of MN, NE, IA, and SD. Key Responsibilities

  • Develops business-to-business relationships with targeted Oncology customers as appropriate.
  • Builds strong, networked relationships throughout key Oncology account customer organizations and develops/strengthens key relationships with account decision makers.
  • Prioritizes account projects/initiatives to support account management efforts alongside cross-functional team members that address changing customer and market requirements.
  • Proactively identifies issues and challenges with accounts and engages with appropriate resources as customer solutions.
  • Effectively communicates clinical and economic rationale to secure product formulary and EMR inclusion, as well as treatment plan development.
  • Leads GPO contract pull-through in community accounts including tactical coordination with NOAD, AZ Sales, and GPO client-facing account teams.
  • Ensures and drives consistent implementation of account strategy regarding pull-through across Oncology customer-facing teams for assigned accounts.
  • Communicates with NOAD, Oncology Field Sales, and Market Access teams regarding account-specific programs, activities, and messages.
  • Provides customer insight to Oncology Access Strategy and Marketing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years pharma and/or other healthcare-related experience.
  • 3+ years prior Oncology experience.
  • Demonstrated team leadership, project management, and business mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and influence peers and management.
  • Strong communication and platform skills.
  • Results-oriented with strategic planning capabilities.
  • Understanding of financial concepts and contracting issues.
  • Strong customer-facing skills.

Nice to Have

  • Prior account management experience responsible for provider institutions or oncology GPO pull-through of contracts.
  • Experience as District Sales Manager or in a Field reimbursement role.
  • Demonstrated negotiating capability.
  • Fluency in Oncology clinical science and translating clinical outcomes and health economic data into customer value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years prior Oncology experience.
