About the Role

Bloomberg LP has built a significant media business spanning TV, digital, print, radio, and live events. In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations including Bloomberg Originals, Bloomberg Green, Bloomberg New Economy, our rapidly growing consumer subscription business, and more. We're seeking an Associate Director of Strategy to join our Integrated Marketing team, reporting to our Global Head of Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support efforts to deepen client relationships and drive revenue by differentiating Bloomberg Media through insights and external sources.
  • Partner with Sales and other teams to enrich relationships with high priority clients and prospects.
  • Enhance vertical expertise through vertical-specific insights.
  • Promote efficiency by making it easy for the media organization to self-serve via plug-and-play resources.
  • Work on new business pitches and post-sale strategy projects in partnership with Sales across various verticals, with opportunities to serve as an SME.
  • Innovate and develop thought leadership that differentiates Bloomberg Media and supports sales efforts, collaborating with Data Science & Insight on ideas and presentations.
  • Pitch and present to senior and C-suite clients and prospects.
  • Influence senior management to build consensus around complex ideas and initiatives.
  • Mine data, research, and intelligence reports for insights and implications, including Bloomberg Intelligence and the Terminal.
  • Articulate insights and lead with a point of view with internal and external audiences.
  • Develop brand strategies, customer journey maps, content strategies, and communication plans.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the Media organization and beyond to identify opportunities to add value through insights.
  • Lead and support day-to-day workstreams such as team coordination, meetings, materials, presentations, and client coordination.
  • Keep the team informed on trends across digital, cultural, and market areas and suggest applications for clients and work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Media or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of global brand marketing, account management, or agency new business experience; hybrid B2B-B2C experience is a plus.
  • Experience in strategy, marketing, and/or partnerships roles such as strategy consulting, brand strategy, brand management, marketing strategy, or strategic partnerships.
  • Understanding of the B2B media landscape and industry trends.
  • Expertise in strategic marketing, data analysis, account management, brand strategy, and new business development.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently while being part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities, with influence over cross-functional teams and processes.
  • Ability to tell compelling stories and construct data-driven arguments by interpreting data and insights from various sources.
  • Proficiency in building polished presentations using PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote.
  • Solid understanding of systems/platforms such as Salesforce, Smartsheet, and Slack.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed, global environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a strategy, marketing, and/or partnerships role, e.g., strategy consulting, brand strategy, brand management, marketing strategy, strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
