About the Role

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking an Automated Test Engineer to play a critical role with the design, engineering, development and deployment of software supporting DIA-National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) under a 10-year DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract. The role involves working as part of a mission-focused, solutions-oriented, and adaptive team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional development. The work primarily occurs on-site at the client location in Bethesda, MD, with some tasks potentially performed remotely depending on client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design test strategies, test plans, and test cases from requirements, design documents and specifications for testing across different platforms and with an emphasis on manual testing.
Automate test cases using Selenium WebDriver.
Estimate test case writing and execution effort and keep track of own progress.
Author test cases and hold test case reviews with stakeholders.
Execute test cases including functional, smoke, regression, and integration tests.
Report, track, validate, and close defects.
Record test results and report them.
Participate in daily scrum meetings.
Participate in system design sessions to provide input on testability of new features.
Support testing processes by tracking and gathering metrics on all testing activities.
Participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development, focusing on user requirements, test design, and test tools selection.
Use metrics in quantitative project management to identify areas for improvement.
Provide innovative solutions for more efficient testing strategies.

Requirements

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 8+ years in software development, release management, or operations management.
Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
Experience with Selenium WebDriver.
Experience with Git or similar software.
Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile-Scrum development methodology.
Experience with API and endpoint testing.
Experience with Continuous Integration pipeline.
Experience in drafting test plans and test cases.
Experience in using test management tools.
Ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and system integration activities.
Ability to work well with people from different disciplines and varying technical experience levels.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with both Automated and Manual testing techniques.
Experience with big data applications.
Technical degree and/or certifications.
Experience with Elastic Search and writing/executing backend tests using Kibana.
Scaled Agile Framework certification (SAFe Agilist or other).
Familiarity with GitFlow development model.
