About the Role

This dual property features 235 rooms, combining the EVEN Hotel and Staybridge Suites in Seattle's Lake Union neighborhood. The hotel offers a wellness-focused atmosphere with state-of-the-art fitness amenities and healthy dining options at EVEN Hotel, while Staybridge Suites provides spacious suites with fully functional kitchens, ideal for extended stays. The role of BT Sales Manager involves developing business through direct outside sales solicitation for an assigned territory or market segment(s), establishing a client base, and ensuring room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop business through direct outside sales solicitation for an assigned territory or market segment(s).
  • Establish a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling.
  • Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rentals, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.
  • Accurately produce and review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering event orders.
  • Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and clients.
  • Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
  • Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
  • Entertain clients in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Attend and represent the hotel at trade shows and conventions, and participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.
  • Follow up with clients during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
  • Interact with outside contacts such as guests, airlines, wholesalers, corporate accounts, travel agencies, and ad agencies to generate repeat business and new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Some college plus 1-2 years of sales or marketing-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests, employees, and third parties.
  • Reading and writing abilities for completing paperwork, management reports, and interpreting results.
  • Ability to travel and attend training workshops, trade shows, conventions, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice to Have

  • Related degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of sales or marketing experience.
  • Prior hotel sales experience (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license.
