About the Role

DPR Construction is seeking a Business Development professional with at least 3 years of commercial construction experience. The role involves market analysis, customer development, positioning, pre-selling, negotiating, and post-pursuit activities to support the company's growth in technically complex and sustainable projects across various markets. Key Responsibilities

  • Share core market opportunities, trends, and best practices.
  • Identify target customers, key consultants, and trade partners.
  • Conduct competitor SWOT analysis and gather insights.
  • Develop doer/sellers in markets and establish sales goals.
  • Track, report, and recalibrate sales and business development goals.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly business development meetings.
  • Share information with other regions for national customers.
  • Target national and local events for attendance and sponsorship.
  • Organize client events at DPR offices, including marketing and follow-up.
  • Utilize customer capture tools and analyze decision makers and influencers.
  • Maintain customer info in pipeline and conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Develop marketing strategies for new clients and connect with other offices.
  • Perform customer data mining and create differentiators worksheets.
  • Identify opportunities to win without competition or influence RFPs.
  • Conduct go/no-go analysis of pursuits and develop challenger sale strategies.
  • Drive project capture discussions, identify pursuit teams, and develop proposal themes.
  • Provide content and proof for proposals, prepare for interviews, and ensure quality control of marketing materials.
  • Follow up post-pursuit with post-mortem analysis, update pipeline, and schedule reviews.
  • Visit jobsites and help identify newsworthy stories on projects.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a positive reputation within the industry.
  • Core market knowledge and existing network.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and meet deadlines.
  • DPR culture fit, passion, and a strong work ethic.
  • External ambassador at industry events.
  • Proven history of success.
