About the Role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing the market in ANZ by prospecting, identifying, and developing new sales opportunities. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, system integrators, end users, and consultants to detect and influence early-stage opportunities. The manager acts as the single point of contact (SPOC) for end customers and works closely with internal teams to support sales growth and product launches in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, identify, and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Build a network and develop & maintain strong working relationships with partners, system integrators, end users, and consultants to detect and influence opportunities early.
  • Act as SPOC for the end customer.
  • Manage processes for creating quotes, managing the sales cycle in CRM, developing and negotiating proposals and commercial agreements.
  • Track business opportunities and sales funnel performance, providing regular forecasting, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to Sales Management, Segment marketing, and Product management.
  • Support local partners and customers through different sales stages with both commercial and technical advice to maximize opportunity conversion rate.
  • Translate customer needs into winning solutions and offerings.
  • Collaborate with product management and technical experts on multiple projects within an international environment.
  • Provide guidance to field marketing on outreach strategies.
  • Participate in training, trade shows, and regional events.
  • Grow Barco sales and funnel in the targeted country by increasing sales within managed end-user accounts or acquiring new end customers.
  • Support new product launches by evangelizing solutions to managed accounts.
  • Establish contact and secure demo opportunities with key prospects and close deals during on-site visits or industry events.
  • Follow up on leads generated by campaigns.
  • Analyze customer needs and provide appropriate value propositions.
  • Identify potential showstoppers and report back to management for additional support.
  • Report weekly visits and manage the sales funnel; maintain up-to-date records in CRM.
  • Monitor technology and market factors, providing market intelligence to relevant teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in business, marketing, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of proven sales experience in related industry or technology.
  • IT knowledge (networking) is a plus.
  • Strong and assured communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaboration skills for effective interaction with different team roles such as BDM, consultant, account manager, and channel manager.
  • Good hunting skills.
  • High-level sales negotiating skills with outstanding relationship-building abilities.
  • Be bottom-line oriented, budget-conscious, and metric/measurement driven.

  • IT knowledge (networking) will add value to the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in business, marketing, engineering, or equivalent.
